At the moment I do not have any pets, but after reading; ‘Why Cats Are So Easy To Care For’ I am pretty sure which animal I would choose.

This post is very true. I don’t think that I could be doing with having a dog to look after; cats sound like a lot less trouble. Besides, the other thing that puts me off dogs is the smell. Even dogs that ‘don’t smell’ (according to their owners) can really hum if they have been out in the rain. I can honestly say that I have never known a single cat to smell…

Perhaps one day we will learn to not mess around with nature. We have a long track record of tampering with the natural order of things and reaping the terrible rewards.

A good example of this is BSE. Mad Cow Disease came about because of feeding meat to animals that are naturally vegetarian. This was a pretty dumb thing to do and you would think that it was so obviously wrong that it never would have happened. So why did it? Well, that is very easy to answer. It saved money. If you dig around at any situation in the world of politics, farming or businesses for long enough you will usually find that money is at the heart of it.

What is obviously wrong to ordinary people is not so to those in positions of power. Money is a great corruptor. I am not an authority on Genetically Modified crops, but I will bet you anything that they are very ‘cost effective’ compared to traditional methods.
